STEM
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM is an acronym that refers to the academic disciplines of these four. And as a part of this project the Notre Dam Nature Study Club has organized the STEM Enhanced Nature Festival-2016, powered by the U.S. Dept. of State. The festival took place at the premises of Notre Dame College on the 19th,20th of August. The Inauguration Ceremony was presided by Fr. Anthony Sushanto Gomez C.S.C, director of guidance, Notre Dame College. He was accompanied by our special guests, Micro-biologist Dr. Ashrafuzzaman and Professor Shakib Ahsan,visiting professor at ULAB. Mr. Biplob Kumar Deb, the Moderator of the Notre Dam Nature Study Club was also present in the ceremony.
It was an invitation-only competition. And so, approximately 117 |

participants from 12 different schools and colleges participated in these 5 listed events-Green Bee, Eco project, Digital story, Confab Seminar and the Green Mentor/Green club award.
Green Bee is actually the Olympiad event based on our nature, environment and ecology. The Eco project is another event that took place where the participating students had to bring and share their projects they made on Water, Air, Energy consumption and on our daily life style.
The digital Story is a quite new event where the participants not only submitted their photographs but also got a chance to describe the theme and the concept of it.
Confab Seminar was actually the multimedia presentation competition. But the participants got a chance to actually interact with the spectators as they were presenting their concepts/theories on Air, Water, Soil Pollution and Energy Savings.
The Green Mentor/Green club award was another exceptional event in which the ecology/environment/nature based clubs of the participating schools and colleges gave a presentation on their club activities.
All together the participants, their respective teachers and moderators had an amazing day filled with their enthusiasm for nature using STEM practice.
There were others day such as chemistry day, math day, physics day, ICT day organised as well.
